Resetting Windows Phone (WP) will return it to the same condition where it was in the first time you turned it on. But main problem of resetting Mobile is that, you will lose all your data stored in Phone Memory and the phone will be restored to its factory settings. There are various ways of resetting your WP. But, there are two main types of resets for your Phone are: Soft reset hard reset (factory reset) Reset Windows Phone without Losing Data There is a big difference between the two: The soft reset is more like an extended reboot while the hard reset will return your phone to factory settings. Firstly, press and hold the volume down & Power buttons until our phone vibrates and restarts. Note that we should not touch the device screen during the process. But it is only possible when your backup is turned on under Settings. Note: Resetting your device will not remove any firmware updates or OS. If your phone is not responding and you can’t reach Settings, you may be able to reset your Phone using the hardware buttons: First make sure the device is off. Then, Press and hold the volume down & Power buttons for a couple of seconds until your phone vibrates. When you feel vibration, you can press left Power keys when Windows logo appears on your screen. And then immediately press and hold the Volume down keys until you see a white exclamation.
